Matthew Carr is the Head Coach of the 10U PA Titans, Coach Carr comes from a rich baseball background having played and coached for the baseball powerhouse Chambersburg Trojans. During his tenure playing for the legendary Coach Bob Thomas and the Trojans, Coach Carr was a member of the 1999 PIAA State Championship team, where he scored the game winning run in the top of the 7th inning. Coach Carr was also a member of four PIAA District 3 Championship teams. Three of those championships came as a player (1999, 2000, & 2001) and one as a coach (2009).
Coach Carr brings more than 12 years of baseball coaching experience to the program, 10 of those years as the Assistant Coach for the Varsity Chambersburg Trojans. Coach Carr filled numerous roles, including 1st base coach, defensive positioning coach, and throwing batting practice to the players. Coach Carr resigned from his high school coaching position in 2016 so that he could coach his son’s Shippensburg Suburban Pinto (7-8) team. He has coached the Shippensburg Maroon Pinto team for the past two years, leading them to a 15-1 record and a CSIT Tournament Championship this past season.
Coach Carr also has 7 years of previous coaching experience at Shippensburg Area School District, where he coached middle and high school girls’ basketball.
Coach Carr is a 2001 graduate of Chambersburg Area Senior High School and a 2005 graduate from Lock Haven University, where he earned a degree in Elementary Education. He has also earned a Master’s Degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Walden University.
Coach Carr is working for the Chambersburg Area School District. He is currently a sixth grade math teacher at CAMS South.
He and his wife, Megan, reside in Shippensburg, PA and have two children, one son and one daughter, Brady and Sydney
